A bold, upright and graceful breed named after the village in Kent
where it originated, the buff was produced after the black and white
varieties. Later breeding has made it a purely ornamental bird.
WELSUMMER
ORIGIN - HOLLAND
EGG COLOUR - DEEP BROWN
Named after the Dutch village of Welsum, this bird is made-up of many
breeds including partridge Cochin, partridge Wyandotte and partridge
Leghorn. Sporting a single comb and rich gold and chestnut brown
plumage, the Welsummer is well known for its dark brown eggs.
